In January of last year, Matthew Levy and Anthony Rodoletto filed a class-action lawsuit against the bank. They accused Westfield Bank of an “abusive and predatory practice” of charging overdraft fees on transactions and then imposing insufficient funds fees on the same transactions. The complaint stated that this practice violated the bank’s contract and the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act.

The plaintiffs, in their complaint, demanded refunds for the improper charges.
